Comm/Secy I&C Deptt chairs Investor Facilitation Meet organised by the JKTPO

Vikramjit Singh,Commissioner / Secretary to Government, Industries & Commerce
Departmenttoday chaired an Investor Facilitation Meet at Convention Centre
Jammu to address the issues and concerns of the industries.
The
Investor Facilitation Meet was organised by Jammu & Kashmir Trade Promotion
Organization (JKTPO) for Investors in Jammu Division, and this is the second
meet since March which is chaired by Shri Vikramjit Singh, Commissioner /
Secretary, I&C. The first one was held in Kashmir. The purpose of the meet
was to hear the grievances and issues of investors, including of those who have
been allotted land under J&K land allotment policy and effort to solve
their issues under one platform to actualize the investment on the ground
through a one stop facilitation process. 20 industrial associations and over 80
industries and participated in today’s Investor Facilitation Meet.Many
prominent industries such as ITC, Chiripal Megpoly Films Bhagthali, Jupitar
Aluminium, Aegios Poly Films and Industrial associations like CII, FICCI, Bari
Brahmana Industrial Association, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industries,
Federation of Industries Jammu, Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Jammu,
etc., participated in the meet.
Setting
the context of the meet Sh. Vikramjit Singh, Commissioner / Secretary
Industries & Commerce, J&K in his address appreciated JKTPO for hosting
such sessions where all Investors, trade bodies, industrial associations and
other officials are on the same platform to have a threadbare discussion on the
issues faced by industrialists.He also said “Governmentfocus is to improve the
industrial ecosystem of J&K and guide them in every possible way to resolve
their grievances.The Department of Industries and Commerce is
taking various steps to improve the business ecosystem of the UT, such as the
fully operational Single Window System, upgradation and amendments of J&K
Industrial ecosystem policies.He also assured such meetings will be regularly
featured in both the divisions to facilitate investors.”
The
session had one to one discussion with investors, industrial associations and
trade bodies regarding the issues faced by them in different verticals such as
land, power, change of land use, industrial estates, environmental clearances
etc.
Earlier
on the occasion Smt. Khalid Jahangir, Managing Director, Jammu and Kashmir
Trade Promotion Organisation welcomed the prominent industries and the
representatives from Industrial Association and said “We committed to ensure
smooth operations of industries in the UT of J&K and we stand hand in hand
with all the investors of J&K as they are helping us to develop industrial
ecosystem of the UT. We intent to address the issues faced by the industries
though such facilitation meets and make the UT one of the preferred
destinations of India.”
The
meet was attended by Smt. Smita Sethi, Secretary I&C, Shri. Khalid
Jahangir, MD, JKTPO, Shri. Kishore Singh Chib, Director, I&C, Shri.
Inderjeet, MD SIDCO/SICOP, Shri. Suresh Kaul, Director, Finance, I&C, Shir.
Sat Paul Pakhru, Regional Director, PCB and other senior officials from
Pollution Control Board, Power Development Department, Public Works Department
and Revenue Department and addressed the issues related to land allotment,
provision of basic amenities such as power, road connectivity, water and drain.
The Commissioner / Secretary noted the grievances and assured that necessary support
will be provided to the industries for smooth and hassle-free operations.
