facilitates Handloom\Handicraft & Textile exhibitors in 1st Edition of
Bharat TEX- 2024
Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) actively
participated in the 1st Edition of Bharat TEX, organized by a consortium
of 11 Textile Export Promotion Councils and supported by the Ministry of
Textiles in two of the nation’s largest exhibition centers Bharat Mandapam
& Yashobhoomi New Delhi from 26th February to 29th February
2024. Bharat TEX witnessed over 3,500+ exhibitors and 40,000+ trade visitors
from 50+ countries. Bharat TEX 2024 was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. During his address to the gathering, the
Prime Minister “warmly welcomed everyone to Bharat Tex 2024,
During the inaugural ceremony of Bharat TEX the largest-ever global textile
event to be organized in the country, highlighting the significance of the
event being held at two of India's largest exhibition centers, Bharat Mandapam
and Yashobhoomi. Emphasizing the international scale of the exhibition, he
acknowledged the participation of over 3000 exhibitors and traders from around
100 countries, along with an impressive attendance of approximately 40,000
visitors. The Prime Minister underscored the inclusive platform that Bharat Tex
provides, uniting diverse stakeholders and fostering global collaboration.” The Prime Minister shed light on the
government's ambitious plans to establish seven PM MITRA Parks across different
states. During his address, he emphasized the government's commitment to
creating opportunities for the entire textile sector through these initiatives.
In his welcome address, Union Minister of Textiles, Consumer Affairs,
Food and Public Distribution, and Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal,
described “the global textile expo as the country's largest integrated textile
event. He highlighted that this initiative aligns with Prime Minister Shri
Narendra Modi's vision of 5F, encompassing the entire textile value chain from
farm to fibre, fibre to factory, factory to fashion, and fashion to foreign
markets. Emphasizing the need to strengthen local supply chains, Minister Piyush
Goyal stressed the importance of focusing on 3S - skill, speed, and scale, to
realize the vision of a 'Viksit Bharat'.”
During the 4-day Bharat TEX event, exhibitors from Jammu and Kashmir
witnessed a significant footfall of buyer/customer’s, leading to substantial
sales and the generation of over 250 plus potential business leads. The J&K
pavilion became a focal point, attracting attention from industry leaders,
officials, and buyers eager to explore the diverse handloom, handicraft, and
textile offerings presented by the exhibitors. The pavilion also garnered a
visit from Union Minister of Textiles, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public
Distribution, and Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, along with other
dignitaries. Their visit underscored the appreciation for the rich art and
craft of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir showcased by the
participating exhibitors.
